Lightning Fundraiser - BRAX Sports!

The Lightning Booster Club is kicking off the season with an exciting fundraiser to help offset the costs of new and upgraded team equipment.

Lightning Cross Country

This fall the Dale City "Lightning" Track Club (DCTC) will introduce distance running club for those athletes that would like to run youth Cross Country (XC). The running club will provide an opportunity for athletes to run together, practice, and participate in a few youth Cross Country meets. The DCTC Cross Country running club is not the indoor track program which will formally start in October, however,  gives distance runners another outlet for distance running. There is no registration fee, only for meets during the season.

Lightning Strikes at the AAU VA National Championships

The Dale City Lightning traveled to Suffolk, VA June 29-30, 2013 to compete in the AAU VA National Championships.  Athletes finishing in the top 5 of their age division in each event would advance to the 2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games being held at Eastern Michigan University.  DCTC is very proud of all of our athletes that competed over the weekend.  The Lightning athletes definitely made their presence known competing at a high level in every event.  DCTC has 17 athletes that qualified for the 2013 AAU Junior Olympic Games (See Below).

Indoor / Fall Season Registration is OPEN!

On-line registration is now open through September 29, 2013 for the Dale City Track Club (DCTC) indoor training program, which is designed for youth ages 6 - 17 interested in track and field.  DCTC will coordinate with the Potomac Valley Track Club (PVTC) to host a series of training sessions to assist youth athletes in building strength, endurance, and speed; learning the fundamental techniques of the shot put, javelin toss and long jump; and helpful tips to improve nutrition and health.  

DCTC's indoor training program begins Oct 1, 2013 and concludes February 9, 2014. The training sessions will occur twice a week, Sundays and Tuesdays.
